What did Bertie Ahern and Noel Dempsey expect??
Are they really so out of touch with reality that thought a 100,000+ people on second provisional licences were just gonna be fine with such a sudden change of plan... "Oh well... I'll just have to thumb to work from now on, shit happens."
Ahern isn't really THAT out of touch with reality, is he? Did he just decide to create a new scandal to direct attention away from all those questions about his financial affairs?? Or perhaps to direct attention away from the EU Treaty issue??

It was all about the money. Very underhanded to be honest ..... but its FF, what can you expect. The media just lapped it up and Bertie gets his pay rise. He is an underachiever of the highest order.
The loveable rouge, and he is laughing at the whole country.

Ah yes, the pay rise - they did award themselves that at the same time they were gonna put a 100K people off the road.

They will hammer people in the next budget (they'll have to as they are seriously down on revenue) and the whole country has to tighten their belts and make do, yet they get pay rises and tribunals are all forgotten about.
Could be worst though, you could be from Shannon

My father, as a small business man, is worried about the downturn in the economy, but as a Fine Gaeler, he's delighted that for once Fianna Fail have to make all the hard decisions with recession!
The Heathrow route affair is affecting your employment?
